Adderley Care Home with Nursing provides 24-hour care for 46 ladies and gentlemen for both long and short stay. It is set in extensive country garden grounds in the small town of Long Sutton in rural Lincolnshire. We provide a warm, friendly, caring environment for the residents in our care.
The home is situated next to the town's tree lined park and recreation area, and is close to the market place, shops, banks, post office and other amenities, including the library and the parish church (which we have close links with).
Our staff are chosen carefully and receive full in-service and external training. There are two qualified moving and handling trainers and three NVQ assessors on site. 80% of the staff have obtained their NVQs while the other 20% have commenced their National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ) training. The home is registered with the Alzheimer's Society and has a trainer within the home that trains the staff in a ten week course in Alzheimer's care (Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow). All the staff are continually updated in care for the elderly to ensure the highest possible care for our residents. There is also a qualified nurse on duty 24 hours a day who will liaise with the other departments for the benefit of the individual resident.
At Adderley Care Home with Nursing we have a dedicated activities co-ordinator who ensures residents are kept occupied on a daily basis. There is an ongoing social programme which provides a host of regular activities for residents. These include weekly bingo sessions, shopping, outings to the seaside and theatre visits which are usually suggested by the residents in their monthly meeting. There is also occupational therapy and in-house seasonal parties and entertainment. We have one mini bus which allows clients to enjoy outside events.
The home has a hairdresser/beauty salon with a visiting hairdresser once a week. The home also has a visiting chiropodist, optician and dental service on a regular basis. The G.P visits weekly and also upon request. A resident can keep his/her own doctor providing the G.P agrees. Access to a community psychiatric nurse, psychiatric consultant, physiotherapist or an occupational therapist is available via a referral by the G.P. The parish clergy visits regularly and the residents are also give the opportunity to attend the church within the community. All the denominations who reside at the home are encouraged to have their own minister attend and the home will contact the church at the resident’s request.
Meals are prepared daily by experienced catering staff who have their NVQ in cooking and food preparation. We provide good wholesome food made with fresh vegetables and fruit. Any special dietary requirements are catered for.
Visitors are always welcome to come and see their loved ones any time of the day.
